As kids grow older, Halloween is just one of those things that get less exciting. Part of the reason is growing up, but it's also the lack of trick-or-treating options. Many kids consider themselves too old for door-to-door trick-or-treating, which has made Boone Boo a way for many teenagers to get back into past traditions. It is friendly for all ages and a way that a lot of students from Watauga High School choose to spend their Halloween night.
The event includes the classic trick-or-treating, but also offers some fun activities, such as a costume contest, which a lot of people don't know about. Most participants take the opportunity to show off their costumes as they walk the streets. From black cats to Monsters Inc. characters, the costumes this year were very interesting. Students really worked hard to come and show out despite the frigid weather.
