Every year, Watauga High School's music programs come together for one incredible showcase of talent. The Kaleidescope Concert features Treble, Concert and Mixed Choir, Jazz Band, Orchestra, Concert Band and many more.
Zwetsloot, 11, is a member of the Jazz Band who has participated in the concert all three years he's attended Watauga.
"It's probably one of our best concerts. It's the one that has the most work put into it, definitely," said Zwetsloot. "I'm not really nervous about too many [pieces]. All of them sound really good."
Chloe Weigl, 11, and a member of Watauga High School's Orchestra and Treble Choir.
"We've been practicing a lot. Every other day, we have class for choir, and we've definitely been working really hard," Weigl said. "I think that [The Kaleidoscope Concert] will go really well for Choir."

"Our fall concert actually got cancelled because of the hurricane, and we started practicing as soon as we got back," said Weigl. "so not a lot of time to get ready."
The Jazz Ensemble preforming "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" with their vocalist, Sofie Helms.
"There's one that I'm pretty excited about. There's a Jazz Band piece where we have a vocalist," Zwetsloot said.

"I think it's a really cool get together where students all get to show their strengths and talents," said Weigl.
The Kaleidoscope Concert's piano accompaniment.
"I think there's donations at the door and it goes towards the band program, which will just help our program in general," said Zwetsloot.
The Choir preparing to sing their next piece.
"I think that our Choir piece 'Winter's Night' sounds really pretty," Weigl said. "It's very dramatic and it's dynamic, so I think it'll sound really good with the group that we have."

"This is actually my first time performing with the Choir, so I'm very excited about that," said Weigl.

This year's Kaleidescope Concert was a beautiful display of artistry, talent and hard work. Despite a tight schedule, Watauga's musicians pulled together an event that anyone would be sad to miss. "I think it's fun," Weigl said. "And a way for crowds and families to come see what Watauga's music programs have to offer."
