About Us
Who We Are
Washington State Model United Nations (WASMUN) is held each spring in beautiful Seattle, WA. Founded in 2000, WASMUN is the oldest MUN conference in the Pacific Northwest. Our mission is to bring a collegiate conference to a high school setting. We are committed to providing delegates with college-level academics and resources: everything from our rules of procedure to our programming is designed to bridge high school and college MUN experiences. We are proud to be staffed entirely by volunteer students and alumni from local universities. WASMUN is a non-profit organization registered with the State of Washington.
Our conference is dedicated to developing our delegates through:
- Providing a path from high school level MUN to college level MUN
- Establishing relationships with schools and individuals in the world of collegiate MUN
- Sharpening public speaking, writing, and collaboration skills
- Furthering an understanding of how Model UN functions on a college level
- Building academic knowledge of international affairs and relations
