Take-out meals during all distance learning

Take out Meals During All-Distance Learning

We have changed to a scratch cooking model of food preparation and we need your help in carrying out our mission to make delicious and nutritious meals accessible to all WSD students while reducing food waste. Pre-ordering using the form is the best way to help. This is not required in order to receive meals but it helps us know how many meals to prepare. The order form will be filled out once a month to allow for changes that you may need to make.

Take Out Meal Information:

During distance learning, meals can be picked up at the “take out” school of your choice for all of your students to make it as convenient for you as possible. As you fill out your pre-order form, please note the grade/ages, schools your students attend and the school/time you wish to pick up all meals, and we will work hard to have those ready and waiting for you.

Meal Pickup during school closure will be twice a week, Mondays and Wednesdays with two meal pickup times to work for your schedule 11:00am – 1:00pm or 4:00pm – 6:00pm. Meals will be available at the following “Take Out Sites”: Hathaway Elementary School, Gause Elementary School, and Cape Horn-Skye/Canyon Creek.

We will have breakfast and lunch available during both times. When filling out your monthly pre-order form, please choose your preference. On the weeks of school where Monday is a holiday, this service will shift to a Tuesday and Thursday pick up.

Payment Information:

Meals are free to children 18 years or younger until the end of December 2020. After December, meals will be charged according to student eligibility status through the WSD’s Culinary Service Program.

Meal Prices for 2020-2021 School Year

Meal Prices for 2020-2021 have gone up by between $.05 and $.10 for both breakfast and lunch for regular priced meals. The “milk only” price has remained the same. Increased meal prices help cover the costs associated with complying with nutrition guidelines and also help reduce the amount that the district is subsidizing the food program. Yearly review of meal prices are required by the USDA, and the district must adjust prices when the review indicates the program is not charging enough.

Middle School Regular Reduced Adult

Breakfast $2.10 No Charge $2.60
