Hi and welcome,
My name is Mr. Isaacson and this will be my 29th year as a teacher at Washougal High School. I grew up in Hockinson, Washington and graduated from Prairie High School - class of 91. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Education from Northwest Nazarene University in 1996. I went on to get my Masters of Education in 1998. Both of my parents were teachers and watching their lives influenced my own. When I am not teaching I enjoy watching baseball, traveling, backpacking, skiing and hanging out with friends.

Start of school year explanation:
This is a unique and challenging time. However, students will learn and develop skills from History that will benefit their future. Students who attend class will continue to have an opportunity to interact and learn. Curriculum and instruction will be similar to the previous years. However, at least for now learning will develop a little slower. Here is how I anticipate the first week and a half to go:
First week-get to know each other and teach lessons provided by the District.
Second week- introduce syllabus and discuss what will be learned in class. Confirm means of communication and check if students feel confident about connecting through Zoom. Connect students to Google Classroom. Hopefully, begin teaching content.
Hopefully, this helps create a picture for the start of the school year. Please, be patient with me as I will be using Google Classroom and Parent Square this year for the first time.
