About Mrs. Winslow
I decided to be a teacher when I was in high school. I have loved music my whole life and want to share that with students and my community. I have taught since 2004 in all levels and areas of music.
I also LOVE to perform on trumpet and horn. I performed in the 2002 Olympic Band, in the Tuacahn and the Utah Shakespeare Festival Pit Orchestras, with many famous artists such as Allen Vizzutti, Celtic Woman, Gentri, Lexi Walker, and others. I performed in the 2022 Rose Parade, in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in 2024, and in Rome, Italy with my family in 2025. I am honored to have been a Grammy Award Quarterfinalist in both 2022 and 2024.
Outside of music, I love to travel and I am able to do that with my family, as a tablature for Bands of America, and as a music student chaperone for WorldStrides. I also love to draw, sew, write music, and learn all kinds of new technology. I really enjoy creating!
My greatest love is my family. My husband, Mike Winslow, is the previous Desert Hills High band director and current Principal at Desert Hills Intermediate School. My oldest son is a Laboratory Scientist, my daughter is in her final year of college, and my youngest son just graduated from High School and is serving an LDS mission in California. They are my biggest joy in this world!
I love working alongside the students, parents, and great educators at SCMS!
