Sub Plans for Thursday September 17, 2026

PREP (1st Period) - is my Prep, so please enjoy your break.

Science (2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Periods) - [click here] for today's slides for Science

• Greet students at the door, remind them to read the board, and sit in their assigned seat.

• Today students will be working on a lab activity they started yesterday. Several students were absent due to a field trip, so if any of them ask what to do, please tell them to join an already existing group of two and work with them to finish the lab.

• Here's a basic run down of what they're doing. 

  • Using the materials in the small orange bins, they are testing how far they can make a small block move by dropping a container onto a lever block. They should be recalling their knowledge of Newton's three laws of motion (specifically the third for this experiment)

  • As they do their trials, they should be recording their data. Each time they change their independent variable, they must do 5 trials, record their distance, and take the average of their data.

  • Once they finish, they need to graph their data and finish the post lab questions in the lab packet. Please have them keep the packet in their science binders.

• Have each class clean up 2-3 minutes before the bell. 

  • Please make sure all the materials are accounted for. I included a materials list in the sub plans I left on my desk. Each student should have the materials list on their lab packet.

• If, by chance, they finish early, have them get their chromebooks out and either: finish homework for my class, work for another class, or read silently. NO GAMES!!

STEM (6th Period) - This class is a mix of 6th and 7th grade.

• Greet students at the door.

• This class finished a STEM project yesterday, so they should be finishing their Online Journals on Google Slides. If they forget, please remind them to check their Google Drive.

• Today is a homework catch up day for them, since tomorrow is midterm for Quarter 1. 

• Please walk around the classroom and make sure they're not playing games on their chromebooks. If you catch them playing games, please write their names down on the subplans and I will contact their parents when I return.

• Please have this class clean up about 5 minutes before the bell. They should clean up the floor around them as well as put their chromebooks away in the cart at the back of the room.

Homeroom -  NO HOMEROOM TODAY

• Please make sure all the Chromebooks are in the cart before the students leave the classroom. Please plug in the computers to charge before you leave, if the students did not do so already.

Sub Plans for Friday September 18, 2026

• Today students will be working on lab activity prep work for a lab activity we'll do on Monday. 

  • I've posted my slides on Schoology, so students can view them on their own. They will need headphones.

• Have each class clean up 1-2 minutes before the bell. 

• If, by chance, they finish early, have them get their chromebooks out and either: finish homework for my class, work for another class, or read silently. NO GAMES!!

STEM (6th Period) - This class is a mix of 6th and 7th grade.

• Greet students at the door.

• This class will be working on and EdPuzzle activity on Schoology. 

  • It's a 21 minute long video. They will need headphones.

• Please walk around the classroom and make sure they're not playing games on their chromebooks. If you catch them playing games, please write their names down on the subplans and I will contact their parents when I return.

• Please have this class clean up about 5 minutes before the bell. They should clean up the floor around them as well as put their chromebooks away in the cart at the back of the room.
