Try to do some of these activities while you're home!

GENERAL ACTIVITIES

  • Choose a research website from our Internet & School Resources page and learn about a topic that you know nothing about. Watch the video or read the article, and then tell an adult some new things you've learned.

  • Explore Net Smartz Kids to practice making smart choices and staying safe online.

  • Read a book, and then tell a family member all about your book. If it was fiction, tell about the lesson the character learned. If it was nonfiction, tell about what you've learned.

  • Go to the ABCYA website and choose your grade level. Then, choose an activity in the "Letters" section.

  • Go outside and explore your favorite things. Write about what you found.

  • Help someone in your house cook your favorite meal or dessert. List out the ingredients.

  • Read a book and then draw a picture to share your favorite part.

  • Read a book and then give it a rating. Score it on a scale of 1-5. 1 is terrible, 2 is not great, 3 is just okay, 4 is good, and 5 is great. Why did you give it that score?

  • Find a fun, new place to read! Is it a closet? Outside? Under the table?

  • Reread your favorite book.

  • Read aloud to someone: a parent, sibling, pet, or stuffed animal.

  • Read a poem. Then try to write your own poem.

  • Try making your own story, game, or animation using Scratch.

  • Do an indoor and an outdoor scavenger hunt. Click Here for a list. (created by Emily Stockwell - Rockwood School District).
