Educational Day Trips

The Hands-on-House is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping kids learn and making sure they have lots of fun in the process! The museum is designed for children ages 2-10. At Hands-on House, adults and children learn and play together.

The important history of Lititz through the years is displayed through various artifacts and exhibits throughout the year. The Lititz Museum is housed in the Christian Schroop home built in 1793. Next door, in the Johannes Mueller House, you will get a glimpse at what everyday life was like for an 18th century tradesman and his family in a closed Moravian settlement.

Every month at the North Museum features a different theme designed to educate, inspire, and entertain both adults and children. Special events occur regularly and are focused on the family experience in enjoying all aspects of science and nature.


The Lancaster Science Factory is a hands-on, interactive science center for kids in Pre-K to 8th grade and their families. They are open to the public and available for group reservations and rentals. They host a wide variety of STEM educational programs and workshops and lead STEM educational outreach in the community!

The Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum is a wonderful place to visit with families and friends. Whether you come for the animals, to learn about Pennsylvania German life, or to stroll the grounds and get an up-close look at the largest collection of Pennsylvania German artifacts in the United States. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

In the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country, quietly secured on 80 plus acres of natural woodland, you will find the home of the Wolves of Speedwell.For 40 years, the Darlington Family has offered refuge to gray wolves and wolf-dogs. Originally created as a private rescue, Wolf Sanctuary of PA has grown into an educational facility.


Located in the heart of PA Dutch Country, Cherry Crest Adventure Farm is a unique place where fun, family, and farming come together. Not only do we operate an adventure farm during the spring, summer and fall months, but we are a family-owned and completely solar operated farm with over 300 acres of different crops!

When you visit Strasburg Rail Road, the first thing you can expect is an authentic experience of a real steam railroad. The locomotives and passenger cars, (known as “rolling stock”) are not replicas, and the team members are not re-enactors. Strasburg Rail Road has five working steam locomotives and 20 operating passenger cars. All equipment is restored and maintained on-site in their Mechanical Shop.

The Turkey Hill Experience features interactive exhibits allowing you to learn about dairy culture, the story of Turkey Hill Dairy, and how the company's ice cream and iced tea flavors are selected and created. You can create your own virtual ice cream flavor, sit in a vintage milk truck, milk the mechanical cows, star in your very own Turkey Hill commercial, and enjoy free samples of iced tea and ice cream!
