Fundations

Fundations is a multi-sensory and systematic phonics, spelling and handwriting program. It teaches the foundational skills to support reading and writing through practice with phonemic awareness, letters, letter sounds, letter formation, sight words, and phonics word patterns.

Phonics for reading

Phonics for reading provides students with routine based phonics instruction to improve decoding skills. Students also work on fluency and comprehension skills.

PHonics First

Phonics First is a multi-sensory, systematic, structured, sequential, phonics-based program used to teach students the processes for decoding (reading) and encoding ( writing). Lessons emphasize a balance of reading and spelling for mastery of phonetic and non-phonetic words. Students also practice sight words and reading multisyllable words.

CARS & Stars

Cars and Stars is a powerful combination of assessment and instruction that works effectively together to improve student's reading comprehension. Both series focus on 12 core strategies, noted below, to give students the essential tools they need to improve their reading and comprehension skills.

The 12 core strategies are: Finding Main Idea, Recalling Facts and Details, Understanding Sequence, Recognizing Cause and Effect, Comparing and Contrasting, Making Predictions, Finding Word Meaning in Context, Drawing Conclusions and Making Inferences, Distinguishing Fact from Opinion, Identifying Author's Purpose, Interpreting Figurative Language, and Summarizing.
