Bonfield 6th Grade

Hello Families!

We were so excited yesterday to meet the newest leaders of Bonfield. Sixth grade met as a team to go over what sixth grade looks like. In sixth grade our main goal is to prepare young learners for middle school. That means lots of switching. 

A typical sixth grade schedule is as follows:

7:50-8:25 Homerom and SEAD time

8:25-9:25 ELA WIN (students will rotate based on learning goals)

9:25-9:45 Math WIN (students will rotate based on learning goals)

9:45-10:45 Block 1 (This will be ELA or Math, students travel as a homeroom teacher TBD)

10:45-11:15 LUNCH

11:15-11:30 Recess

11:30-12:30 Block 2 (This will be ELA or Math, students travel as a homeroom teacher TBD)

12:30-1:20 Content (with your homeroom teacher)

1:20-1:50 GROW

1:50-2:30 Special

We do most things as a team so newsletters will come to the entire grade from one email, but feel free to reach out to any of us throughout the year. The best part of sixth grade is that we get to teach all the students!

We are so excited for all the wonderful things ahead for your child. We can't wait to see them in the fall!

All we ask for is that you send in THREE pairs of earbuds that STAY in the classroom.

Please do NOT send in folders or binders, we use specific colors, and binders do not fit in the desks.

Optional:

Colored pencils

a pencil pouch no really large or oddly shaped pouches, they have to carry them every day

If you feel called to purchase items for the classroom we have a grade level wish list.
