Invitational will be held at Hempfield High School, Georgelis Law Firm Stadium April 12, 2025
The Black Knight Invitational began in 2003, when Hempfield head boys’ coach Jeff Bradley
invited three other teams from surrounding counties to compete. The original meet allowed 3
competitors per team to compete in every event. Interest in the meet grew, with more squads
wanting to not only get experience with an early-season “big” meet, but to also get PR’s and
qualify for the League and District meets on our fast track and first-class field facilities.
In 2005 the competition expanded to eight teams and became a fundraiser for the team. In
2009, electronic timing was added and more teams were invited.
Today, the meet includes over 20 schools and is still completed in one day of competition.
Starting in 2025, to honor Coach Bradley's vision and his life-long devotion to Hempfield Track
and Field, the Black Knight Invitational was officially renamed the Jeff Bradley Invitational.
