Course overview

"AP German Language and Culture is approximately equivalent to an upper intermediate college-level course. Students cultivate their understanding of German language and culture by applying the interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational modes of communication in real-life situations as they explore concepts related to family and community, language and culture, art and creativity, science and technology, contemporary life, and global contexts." - College Board, 2026

About Me

I grew up in Lititz and graduated from Warwick in 2005. My predecessor, Herr Hoffman, was my German teacher and I traveled to Altötting on the GAPP exchange.

Educational Background

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in German and International Studies from Lycoming College.
I spent both semesters of my junior year living and studying abroad in Bamberg, Germany, a beautiful town in northern Bavaria about 40 miles north of Nuremberg.
After Lycoming, I completed a teacher certification program and earned a Master of Arts degree in German Literature and Foreign Language Pedagogy from the University of Delaware.
I taught German 1 - AP for two years in Loudoun County, Virginia before returning home to Warwick in 2015.
At Warwick, I currently teach German 2, German 3, and AP German. I also lead the GAPP program, our 3-week international exchange with a partner school in Germany.

Family and Hobbies

My husband and I have two children: Samuel (9) and Harper (7). We enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and camping, and we try to travel as much as we can.
