Adult Education

What is it?

Adult Education Classes are offered through the Warwick School District as a means of continuing a lifelong journey of learning. We currently offer several different courses that are free to senior citizens (62+) and $40 to community members.


Classes are offered at different times and different locations, so be sure to check out the details of each class before signing up.

Available Courses and Descriptions

Yoga

Description: Try Yoga and explore the benefits of stretching and strengthening your body. The YogaFit style provides a safe instruction for those new to yoga. The flowing positions provide a full-body workout. Yoga mats are available for anyone that does not have one.

Pound Rockout Workout

Description: Come ready to SWEAT, SCULPT, and ROCK! Pound is a full-body workout using weighted drumsticks (1/4 pound) choreographed to the latest music. The workout engages your core, tones your arms and back through drumming, and strengthens and builds leg muscles. It is the BEST stress reliever as you can pound out all of your frustrations in less than an hour. You do not have to be super coordinated or rhythmic to work out in this class, just come and have fun! Please note: Participants should be in good health and able to sustain moderate to high-intensity workouts. Modifications are available for varying ability levels.

Knitting Basics and Projects

Description: Interested in learning how to knit? Do you already have some basic knitting skills and would like help on a current or new project? Would you like more time to practice knitting? Would you like to make new friends and enjoy the company of other knitters?  If so, here is your chance. The goal of this knitting workshop is to give you a chance to be with other knitters and to complete a project or two! You can learn or review various knitting skills such as: casting on and binding off, knitting and purling, increasing and decreasing/reading patterns, establishing your knitting gauge, etc. Come and have some fun!

Dates & Times:

*These workshops have varied pricing due to an added or removed class. Each class is priced at $10, so if a workshop has 3 dates, the cost is $30; 4 dates, the cost is $40; or 5 dates, the cost is $50.

Introduction to Machine Sewing I

Description: Have you ever wished that you could grab some fabric and make a new bag, curtains, or even an outfit?  You’re in luck!  Mastering sewing skills can open the doors to all types of creative options! This sewing workshop will introduce you to operating a sewing machine. We will create a few fun and simple projects to master skills and gain confidence. Projects include a 16" x 16" pillow cover and a tote bag.

Introduction to Machine Sewing II

Description: Now that you have a basic understanding of operating a sewing machine, and have a few projects under your belt, it's time to build on your new skills! In this class, we will be constructing a pair of pants from a commercial pattern. Join us and add a pair of comfy, summery pants to your vacation wardrobe!

Please note: You must have basic knowledge of operating a sewing machine to be successful in this course!

The cost of each course is $40 per person (free for senior citizens aged 62+).


How do I sign up?

Download and complete this form, then mail/drop off the form and payment to the district office at 301 West Orange St. Lititz, PA 17543.


Are there any additional fees?

Some classes may require additional fees for supplies used in class. 


Who can sign up?

Anyone! We do ask that students under 13 be accompanied by an adult.
