Meet the Teacher
Hi, my name is Shelby Perry. I am your child's Kindergarten teacher. I am so excited that your child is in my class! While there is a lot of uncertainty going into this fall, I am hoping my teacher page will help provide any needed clarification before school starts. I look forward to communicating with you!
Fun facts: In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and with our many pets. I love drinking tea and coffee and being outside. My hobbies include reading, writing, and riding my bike. My favorite color is gray, and my favorite desert is cheesecake.
I love helping animals, and in my free time, I foster for our local shelter, Animal Welfare League. I currently am fostering 2 kittens that will be available for adoption soon. Both kittens are school kittens, one found at Harrison and one found at Leesburg. If you are looking to adopt a kitten, please let me know!

Class Dojo
Class Dojo App
Class Dojo is a tool I use to communicate with directly with parents through classroom updates, events, and direct messages. I will use the app to send home reminders, post needed school info, and post pictures of activities we are doing in class. Aside from email, class dojo is the easiest way to communicate with me. Once school starts, I will share our class dojo link and send home invites for you to join our class page.
Our Classroom
Here is our classroom! This year students are seated in rows, each seat 3-6 ft apart, to comply with Covid guidelines. We will still have carpet/pit time during calendar time, math number talks, and small groups during reading. We will also be doing some grouping for reading and math. The only difference is that when students are participating in activities with close proximity, they will be wearing masks, and our group time is much shorter.
