Open a Notecard and follow the instructions below image of blank card.
To open a notecard from the "Sources" tab, at the far right side of a citation, click on the "New" link in the Notecards column
Follow the instructions on the Notecard.
Type or paste your question into the "Type or Paste your Question Here" box on the lower right side.
Give each card a unique Title, in the upper left corner by using keywords from your question (1 to 4 words maximum -- You may add a number to the title if multiple cards are used to answer the same question)
"Copy, paste and annotate text here" in the box on the left side, any text that you want to save to help answer the question. You can highlight and annotate text to take notes but do not write your own words in this box .
"In Your Own Words - Paraphrase or Summarize" box on the upper right, you can begin to paraphrase or summarize the answers to your question. Remember that you may not plagiarize text from the original source in your research paper -- and that your answers MUST BE SUPPORTED BY INFORMATION FROM YOUR RESEARCH!
Remember not to put too much information onto any one card! It is much easier to sort and organize information into an outline if it is broken down on different cards.
NOTE (Hint, hint!!): You will need specific information for an in-text citation for each source when writing your paper. You may want to copy it from the "Works Cited and in-text citations list" provided for each topic and paste it into the notecard -- possibly in the "Copy, paste, and annotate text" box . . . (Examples: (Trueman). or ("Pastors View”).)
