Our Coaches

Jayson is an experienced Silver Licensed swimming coach, beginning his coaching career with the Warrnambool Swimming Club in 1999. Jayson has vast experience in building a swim program from the ground level. Previous to taking the helm in 2004 Jayson was assistant at WSC under head coach Ross Price. Since 2004 Jayson has coached Age group Medalists and Finalists at a National and State level. In 2013 he was selected to attend the National Open team camp at the Gold Coast. Jayson also has extensive experience in coaching open water teams including English Channel teams and Maui Channel Swim teams (Hawaii) and has had National Age Qualifiers in the 5km open water swims. 

Josh has been involved with the Warrnambool Swimming Club as a swimmer, a swim teacher, and a coach since 1998. He has held the Club’s Assistant Coach position since 2005 and is the coach of the WSC’s Country/State Squad. Josh has a background in  competitive swimming and holds a bronze coaching license. He has been selected as a coach within the Swimming Victoria Development program and has a long-term career goal to remain and develop within coaching. 

Paul has an extensive background in swimming, having been involved in swimming since 1991 as a competitive swimmer, Learn to Swim teacher and now coach. He has coached age and open national level swimmers during his time as coach and competed at national level on 5 occasions in his years as a competitive swimmer. Paul is a Life Member of the WSC and is very proud to be a life member with his mum and fellow coaches. Paul has been a secondary teacher for over 15 years and loves seeing young people challenge themselves and improve in all aspects of life. 

Denbi has been involved in swimming since she was 10, progressing from a competitive swimmer into a dedicated coach and teacher. Her experience in the sport helps her break down techniques into simple, easy-to-understand steps, making her a favourite among her swimmers. She focuses on building strong skills while also encouraging a genuine love for swimming, highlighting the importance of consistency, discipline, and a positive mindset. Denbi creates a supportive and inclusive environment, where swimmers feel confident, motivated, and able to reach their full potential while enjoying their time in the water.
