Scoir is a college and career search engine but importantly, is the vehicle WHS uses to securely and electronically send all school documents. Seniors must set up their account and follow the instructions on asking for Teacher Letters of Recommendations and for Transcripts to be sent by the deadlines. 

Teacher Letter of Recommendation: 

Most colleges require one TEACHER letter. 

Step 1: Pick up the Teacher Rec Request Form in the Counseling office. 

Step 2:  Ask the teacher in person whenever possible

Step 3:   After the teacher agrees to write the letter, the student will go onto Scoir and request the Letter.  The teacher will upload the letter via Scoir and WHS will send it when all other school documents are sent. 

Yellow Transcript Request Card

Three weeks before  an application deadline, students must fill out the yellow Transcript Request Card (in the school counseling office) for each college they are applying to for that deadline. It is VERY important that this is done on time.  

At the same time, students must make sure that the college is also in Scoir under the "Colleges I'm Applying To" tab.  This will be explained in person, via email and during workshops. 

Both must be done to ensure the documents are prepared and sent on time. 

A list of all students with a deadline are sent to all staff so they know to send in Green Sheets and upload Teacher Letters. 

Things to know about Applying

The deadline is met by the Student's application being submitted to the college by the due date.   While the high school is given a grace period to submit documents, our goal is to submit by deadline as well. Please follow our process and deadlines to make sure we can meet this goal. 

After you apply, many students will receive an email that school documents are missing. 99 times out of 100, this is an automatic reminder email and the documents are there but the college has not matched them up yet (or even tried to).
