It is recommended that you take self-assessment placement tests without seeking any help from external sources. This includes asking another person for help or using the internet or dictionary. Students who need to use an outside resource to help them on this placement exam are not prepared for the language level indicated and should take a lower-level course.Â
These online self-assessments are anonymous. VCHS will not see your individual score. They are self-assessments to help students determine which class level is most appropriate next year.
A passing score on a placement test is 70%. Students who earn 70% or above may sign up for the course that matches this placement test. VCHS strongly discourages students who earn below 70% from attempting the course that corresponds to this placement test. Students who have earned below 70% historically do not pass the course. Colleges will look more favorably on a student who takes more years of a language with high scores than a student who skips ahead but struggles.
