Warringa Park School is pleased to announce that is has been recognised as an Apple Distinguished School for 2021-2024 for its use of iPad and Apple technology, allowing all students greater access to the Victorian Curriculum by providing the tools to communicate their learning and extend their thinking.
Apple Distinguished Schools are centres of innovation, leadership and educational excellence. They use Apple technology to connect students to the world, fuel creativity, deepen collaboration, and make learning personal.
Principal of Warringa Park School, Ashwini Sharma, says, “Our school teachers aim to empower learners with the essential skills to communicate, create and collaborate through unique and authentic learning experiences. In doing this, our students will become digital citizens who can navigate a rapidly changing world by recording, investigating, experimenting and risk taking by using multiple technologies.”
The selection of Warringa Park School as an Apple Distinguished School highlights our success in creating an innovative and compelling learning environment that engages students and provides tangible evidence of academic achievement. Our educators continue to use iPad to capture student interactions with learning through photos videos, and recordings. We have used iPad and FaceTime to connect with international schools and share how we are making a difference to water conservation, climate change and wildlife conservation. Using iPad has also increased opportunities for our students who have additional needs, connecting them with their peers from around the world.
Warringa Park will contribute in growing knowledge, improving confidence and increasing the capacity of teachers in using Apple technology in the classroom by equipping them with skills and capabilities. We will continue to grow the Innovation Team to ensure a wider reach within the school. As a result of the amazing student outcomes we have seen from our Apple Pencil trial, we will also continue to explore and implement these in our learning programs in more classrooms. We aim to document and share the fantastic work our students create through our social medial platforms and the hashtag #ImagineThePossibilities.
