During this event, elementary school students will be taught different coding lessons by high school students using Scratch! However, due to the circumstances we are facing right now, this event will be done virtually. Instead of this being a one-time event with the students coming into the school, it will be held over the course of 4 weeks with an opening and closing ceremonies along flexible office hours in between.
This will be a fully virtual event. There will be two main events: an opening ceremony on November 13th and a closing ceremony on December 11th from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm. The dates in between these main events will be used for office hours. There will be a number of different office hours per week for students to chose from which will be posted on the website after we know the final registration numbers. During these office hours, elementary school students will work in smaller groups lead by high school students, where they will be taught coding lessons in Scratch and participate in other fun activities! The students will have the opportunity to showcase what they have accomplished during the closing ceremonies!
