National School Lunch Week at WEMS

As we prepare for Digital Citizenship Week next week, we want to emphasize the importance of helping our students become safe, responsible, and respectful digital citizens. 

Families play an important role in helping students build healthy digital habits. Here are a few simple ways you can help at home:

• Talk about online safety: Remind students to keep personal information private and never share passwords.

• Encourage kindness: Discuss how words and actions online can affect others, just as they do in person.

• Set healthy boundaries: Establish expectations for screen time, device use, and appropriate online activities.

• Stay involved: Ask your child about the websites, apps, and games they use and who they interact with online.

• Think before posting: Remind students that online posts, comments, and messages can have lasting consequences.

Our goal is to help students make thoughtful, responsible choices both online and offline. Thank you for partnering with us to prepare our students to be positive digital citizens! 💙

From now until November 6  WEMS will be collecting items for the Fall Block Party. We are requesting 7th grade students bring in individually wrapped snack cakes, and 8th grade bring in 2 liters. The grade that brings in the most will receive hot cocoa and cookies.

The Fall Block Party will be November 6, 2026 from 5-7pm. Wrist bands can be pre-ordered for $10 (be on the lookout for more information on pre-ordering) or purchased at the door for $15. There will be music, face paint, a cake walk, a petting zoo, a Book Fair, consessions, and more!

Our school goal this year is 96% attendance and we want everyone's help making this a reality!  

We do realize sickness, appointments, and unexpected things happen.  When possible, please schedule appointments after school hours.  Otherwise, we want to encourage families to ALWAYS get a doctor's note for a sick child.  For other major incidences, we want to hear from you so we can help your child and you navigate the missed days and help coordinate any missed assignments.

Any changes a parent needs to make to their child's transportation need to be called into the front office by 1:00pm on the day of the change. Feel free to call us at (270) 843-0181 to let us know if you child is changing their afternoon mode of getting home.

ESS will be Thursdays from 2:30pm-3:30pm. ESS is voluntary and open for any student who has missing assignments or needs additional help understanding math and reading concepts. Families must provide transportation, and be in the car rider line ready to pick up their student by no later than 3:30pm.
