For WCPS seniors seeking a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from Western Kentucky University to pursue a teacher certification
Partnership between WKU and WCPS (Option for other universities in KY)
WKU sponsors 1/3 of the tuition
WCPS sponsors 1/3 of the tuition
Scholarship recipients are responsible for 1/3 of tuition
Note: For students enrolling at other universities in Kentucky, while no tuition assistance is available from the university through this specific program, WCPS will provide $350 per course.
Tuition assistance is only applied after ALL other scholarships are applied to the student's account.
Scholarship Recipients MUST commit at least 3 years of service beyond program completion.
Class of 2025 Aspiring WCPS Teacher-Scholars Application Required - Closed 04/17/25
Accepted students will be notified in May and must submit proof of enrollment in an accredited teacher education program by July 31st. An official contract will be signed in May and will become active once proof of enrollment is received. Acceptance into the Grow Your Own program does not guarantee acceptance into Western Kentucky University or any other university.
