WEEK OF NOV. 14TH, 2022
WHAT'S HAPPENING:
There are several college and career events going on this week. In addition to field trips, WKU is honoring several of our deserving seniors at an Honors Luncheon. Murray State and WKU admissions will be here to visit us. Additionally, SKYCTC will be all day on Tuesday to help register Spring semester dual credit students.
Seniors wanting to take the ACT one more time to improve their scores for college early-decisions, you should really consider taking the ACT on December 10th at WKU or Bowling Green High School. This past week, the ACT EXTENDED the late registration deadline to this Tuesday (Nov. 15th). If you need help signing up, stop by guidance to get registered.
Herff Jones was here this past Friday. If you were not able to pick up your items, please come by guidance this week to do so.
Any Senior athlete interested in a $500 scholarship needs to fill out this application. ONE male and ONE female from the 4th Region will be named and recognized in March at WKU during the 4th Region Basketball Championships. Please complete and submit to Coach Esters by December 9th.
INTERESTED IN GETTING INTO COLLEGE?
ETS MAY BE FOR YOU:
We REALLY need 9th-12th graders to sign up for this program. If you are a senior, you may apply below as well. Apply here: https://www.wku.edu/ets/
WKU’s Educational Talent Search (ETS) is a program that identifies and assists qualified youth who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants, and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to the postsecondary institution of their choice. ETS is one of eight Federal TRiO Programs funded by the US Department of Education. Some ETS Programs serve high school dropouts by encouraging them to reenter the education system and complete their education. The goal of Talent Search is to increase the number of youth who complete high school and enroll in postsecondary education institutions. Warren Central is proud to be able to provide our students with the opportunity to participate in ETS. Each grade will meet once a month with David Carner from WKU at the designated times each month (dates will be finalized soon). Teachers will be sent the list of participants in the coming days. If you have any questions about this program, contact guidance or you can visit the ETS webpage at this link: https://www.wku.edu/ets/
Monthly meeting are held at school in the auditorium. Freshmen will attend during 1st Period, Seniors during 2nd period, Juniors during 3rd period, and Sophomores during 5th period.
