US News and World Report publishes rankings of K-12 schools each year. This year Plano was listed as the top school in Warren County! Warren County is full of wonderful schools, and we're proud to be part of TEAM WCPS!
This week all classes have been focused on teaching classroom and school-wide procedures. One special tradition is that our 6th graders visit each classroom to also teach school-wide procedures. It is great for our younger Panthers to see our oldest Panthers as role models. Last week I visited with each 6th grade classroom to remind them that they will set the tone for our school year, and they are off to a great start!
We have designated two days in our calendar as Parent Engagement Days, November 2 and February 12. On these days students will not attend school but teachers will be available to meet with parents individually. However, we are always happy to schedule meetings at other points in the year. There is a button on the top of this website labeled "Parent-Teacher Conference." Parents/Guardians are welcome to utilize that button to schedule a conference at any point in the year.
Thank you parents/guardians for following our car rider procedures in the morning and afternoon. The line is progressing quicker each day as everyone acclimates to the system. On Thursday almost every vehicle had their green car rider tag. That helps our line move faster and improve the traffic on Plano Rd.
Plano Elementary opened its doors in August 2007 and has served thousands of students in that time. Our school is now of the age that some of our parents attended Plano. It is extremely gratifying to see that we also have former Panthers who are now serving our students. Kayla Dennis was a student in 2016 and is now a 3rd grade teacher. Adam Burns was a student in 2014, and student taught at Plano. He now serves as a special education teacher. Today, Isaac Deaton served as a guest teacher. Isaac attended Plano in 2017. We talk about legacies at Plano, and these three Panthers are examples of the positive legacy our school makes in our community!
You can help us increase funding for our school by completing the Household Income Form. It only takes a few minutes, but will lead to increased federal and grant funding. Thank you in advance!
Each Friday afternoon, I'll send you a text and email with the latest update to the Panther Principal Page. Teachers will also be sending home newsletters each week to keep you up-to-date on the latest happenings.
Safety is our #1 priority, and we need all parents/guardians to help make our arrival and dismissal time safe for families. Please watch this video to familiarize yourself with our car rider procedures.
