A Message from the Principal, Dr. Butts
March 1, 2026
Dear Bluebird Families,
We had a wonderful week at Alvaton Elementary! Our 4th/5th and 6th grade Beta teams, Robotics team, and 4th/5th grade Academic Team represented AES with excellence at their recent competitions, placing in the top five in many categories. We are incredibly proud of our Bluebirds and grateful for the teachers, sponsors, and families who support them.
As we move into March, we are excited about several opportunities for families to be involved at AES. Our Spring Book Fair will take place March 9–13. Families are invited to attend Breakfast with Your Bluebird on Monday, March 9 at 7:30 AM, and you will have the opportunity to visit the Book Fair afterward.
We also invite you to join us on Thursday, March 12 at 6:00 PM for our “Music Around the World” program, where our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students will perform. The Book Fair will be open that evening from 5:00–7:30 PM.
Please take a moment to review the important dates for March below.

Hey Bluebird Families—Let’s Go!
It’s time to start bringing in all of your aluminum cans so we can once again raise funds for our school and help our economy! You may drop the cans off in the Recycling bins in front of our school building beside Door 3!
We are 1 of 12 schools from Warren County Public Schools participating into the Million Cans Recycling Contest this year!
Together with the awesome crews at SA Recycling & Ball Corporation , we’re ready to make a huge impact in our community.
Contest Dates: October 1 – April 30
Our 3rd grade Can Captains will be leading the charge—rallying our school and community to recycle more aluminum than ever!
Why it matters:
Schools keep 100% of the money they raise from cans
Every 70 cans = $1 raised for AES
Recycling cans = helping our planet
💙 Great Things Are Happening at Alvaton! 💛
We’re so excited about all the wonderful things happening at AES! Thank you to all our families who came for a parent teacher conference!
If you need to make a transportation change for your child, please be sure to complete the Transportation Change Form before 2:00 p.m. This allows us time to prepare the note and ensure your child’s teacher receives it before dismissal.
Thank you for helping us keep all of our Bluebirds safe and organized during afternoon dismissal! 💙💛
Friendly Reminder
If you are interested in chaperoning a field trip that we are offering parents the opportunity to attend, please remember that you must have completed the volunteer training prior to the trip.

If your Talking Points app is not working, it may be because you do not have an Infinite Campus Parent Portal account. Talking Points is linked directly to the Parent Portal, so without one, the system cannot connect.
To set up your Parent Portal, we must be able to provide you with a username and password, therefore please contact our office on Monday-Friday from 8:40am-2:00pm and we will help get you set up. Thank you!
Please take a few minutes to view the slideshow presentation about our school and Title I program. After viewing, we kindly ask that you complete this very short survey—your feedback is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your time and support!
Reading at home is a powerful way to help your child become—or continue to grow as—a reader. If your child is still learning to read, try reading together each night. If they already know how to read, encourage them to read on their own nightly. This simple habit can make a big difference in their success.
Also, as we continue to foster a love for learning, we encourage you to engage in a simple yet powerful activity at home—reading with your child or having your child read independently. Spending just 15-20 minutes each night can make a significant impact on their literacy skills and overall development.
When arriving in the morning, all students should exit from the passenger side by the sidewalk. We will have staff available to open car doors for our Kindergarten and first grade students.
When picking your child up in the afternoon, please stay in your car and pull up if you need to buckle in your child.
For safety reasons, You must pick up your child through the Car Rider line at dismissal if they are a car rider.
Please know that you must be in the car rider line by 3:45 PM, as our car rider line moves quickly.
The Household Income Form is required yearly. Please know this form is NECESSARY to receive funding for our Free/Reduced Lunch Programs, Family Resource Youth Services Centers, Title One, and much more. REGARDLESS OF INCOME, PLEASE COMPLETE. Click here to reach the online form. Thank you for taking time to do this! If you have questions, please call Jill McClard at 270-904-8755 or email her at jill.mcclard@warren.kyschools.us.
⏰ Early Drop Off Option (7:30–8:00 a.m.)
If your work schedule requires you to be at your job by 8:00 a.m., we are offering an Early Drop Off window from 7:30–8:00 a.m. This service is available only for families who need it due to their work obligations and will provide supervised care during that time.
To request Early Drop Off, please complete the form linked below:
🔗 Early Drop Off Request Form
We kindly ask that families only sign up if there is a true need, as supervision and space during this time are limited. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

If your child loses or misplaces an item during the school year, please encourage them to visit the lost and found area. The lost and found area will be cleaned out at the end of each month; therefore, it is important that students keep up with their items and check the lost and found area regularly. Parents and guardians are welcome to check in at the front office and check the lost and found area, if needed.
If you're interested in your students receiving a weekly backpack food bag, please click here to complete the form.
Students who come through the car rider line may be dropped off between 8:00 and 8:30 AM. Class begins promptly at 8:30 AM. Your child will be counted tardy if they come in after 8:30am.

United Way of Southern Kentucky’s (UWSK) 2-1-1 program is a great resource for those who need a little extra help. No matter the needs such as housing/shelter, food, utilities assistance, support groups, employee assistance and more, UWSK’s 2-1-1 team is available to help connect area residents with available community resources. Upon receiving calls from community members, the 2-1-1 team accesses various databases of resources and connects the callers to the appropriate agencies to receive assistance. To access the line, simply dial 2-1-1.
Alvaton Elementary fully implements tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 for PBIS. Please click here to learn more about how PBIS positively impacts the learning environment at our school!
