Hawthorne students receive a monthly lesson from the Counselor called Guidance! This special time is 30-45 minutes of learning about positive mental health, along with social and emotional skills.

This month, as we transition back to in-person learning, we are reading My Counselor is a Princess by Joey and Melanie Acker. This story provides a basic introduction and understanding as to what a school counselor does, how a school counselor can support students, and the benefits of talking with a school counselor!
After this lesson, your child will understand the following competencies established by the American School Counseling Association:
