AMERICAN LITERATURE
Welcome to American Literature! Whether we realize it or not, we are all writing our own stories every day. This class will look at the work of American writers. We will study how their ideas, beliefs and experiences shaped each of their unique voices. At the same time, we will look at the common experiences and thought patterns we see in these works over the course of hundreds, and even thousands, of years in American history.
You see, our stories matter. They shape how we see the world around us, and they influence how we write our tomorrows. For this class, we will not only study the important work of American writers, but my hope is also that you see your story matters as much as theirs.
