PSAT/SAT/ACT Information

PSAT Scores

Sophomores and Juniors will take the PSATS on October 12th. We will be meeting with students to review how to interpret scores, log into portal, and how to access Khan Academy test prep. The PSAT is great practice for the SAT. It is given annually in October.

Register for the SAT/ACT

Since the onset of the pandemic, many colleges are going test optional. However, it is good to try the test and perform to the best of your ability to potentially have solid scores to share.

Here are the websites to use to register for the SAT and/or the ACT. It is advised that students work with their school counselor to devise an individual test plan to optimize which test(s) to take and when.

ACT - www.act.org

What is the difference between the SAT & ACT?

Both the SAT and ACT are college placement tests and used in the same way. EVERY college and university WILL ACCEPT BOTH scores. They have different test designs - meaning they ask questions in a different way. Because of this, sometimes some students may perform better on one test than the other. It might be worth the effort to take both tests and see if you perform better on one, and submit that score. Your school counselor will be able to assist you on best options of which scores to send and when to go test optional.
