Certification Requirements

A passing fitness test result is required prior to submitting an evaluation request

Requests for an in-person evaluation must be submitted via the WA Refs website at least seven (7) days prior to the match

Evaluations are valid for 12 months

The match must be on a league that is a direct National Affiliate member of the US Soccer Federation (such as USASA, US Youth Soccer, US Club Soccer, USL, UPSL, or emerging national association) and in good standing.

Highest Level Youth  =  BU-19 ECNL and ECRL.  Locally assigned youth leagues do not qualify

For Regional Referee Upgrade, candidates may use three (3) adult games to satisfy the evaluation requirements

Any game not considered to meet the US Soccer “Sufficient Test/Rateable Game Criteria” will be recorded as a “Developmental.”  This evaluation will not count toward the evaluation requirement and the referee will have to request and play for another evaluation.

If any of the Officials on the game being evaluated are not current with US Soccer registration requirement, or otherwise “not eligible” due to any kind of suspension, the evaluation will be entered as “Developmental.” 

Coaches must enter the Referee evaluation in the current US Soccer Evaluation system and record the result(s) in the WA Refs system
