Registration: Upon arrival proceed to the registration booth near bus parking.
Parking: Your buses, as well as your equipment trucks, will be directed to their designated parking areas. All other vehicles will need to park in the “General Parking”.
Dressing Rooms: Dressing rooms are available as shown on the map in the stadium restrooms. They are available an hour before their scheduled warm-up time. Please supervise your students, as we cannot accept responsibility for any lost or stolen items.
Warm-Up: Please warm-up only in designated areas. Do not warm up in the bus parking area. Bands causing a disturbance to bands on the competition field will be penalized according to the discretion of the contest coordinator and judges. This includes playing in undesignated areas as well as loud yelling.
Admission Fee: General Admission tickets to the Sound of Gold are $10.00. Children 5 and under are free.
Chaperones: Chaperones will be admitted free at the ratio of one chaperone per ten (10) students. Chaperone arm bands will be in the registration packets. For equipment personnel, each band will receive 1 arm band for every 15 students.
First Aid: The First Aid station is located on the visitor’s side of the stadium.
Directors Hospitality Room: There will be a hospitality room open to band directors, director’s spouses, and staff located in the Community room under the bleachers at the stadium. Bus Drivers will be given meal vouchers for concessions.
Concessions: Concessions will be open throughout the entire day. We offer a variety of foods. We appreciate your support of our contest through our concession stand! See the concessions attachment and pre order meals for your students, chaperones, and/or staff.
Air Grams: Air Grams will be on sale throughout the day for $1.00. Plan on sending a message to that special someone.
Band Seating: Each band will have a designated seating area in the stands.
No director, parent, or student from any participation band will be allowed in the press box at any time.
All band and auxiliary officers participating in the awards ceremony must be in full uniform. Officers should assemble in performance order at the south end of the field.
Score Packets: Band directors may pick up their scores and comments at the conclusion of the awards ceremony on the 50 yard line. All judge’s comments will be digitally recorded and downloaded on one jump drive.
Ware County High School, including the stadium, is a Tobacco Free campus. Ware County School events follow a clear bag policy.
Each performance will be recorded. See the attachment for DVD orders or visit the booth on competition day.
