Break & Lunch: year 7 & 8 Fields OPEN

☀️ Summer Updates: Break & Lunch Arrangements

As the weather improves, we’re opening up more outdoor space and introducing a few updates to help everyone enjoy break and lunch safely and comfortably.

🌳 Outdoor Spaces

The grass area immediately outside the Assembly Hall can now be used at break and lunch; however, ball games are not permitted in this area. 

You can now also access the fields via the new Additional Learning corridor. This means you do not need to go through the hall.

⚽ Football

Football can now be played on the courts and fields as follows. Please remember that only students playing football should be on the courts or fields.

• Break time: Year 7 – you’ll use the courts. Year 8 - you can use the fields. 

• Lunch time: All students can use the fields. A girls only playing area is also available on the courts, please keep to the field end of the courts. 

Key reminders for footballers:

• No slide tackles.

• Maximum of 10 players per side.

• Goals must not be moved.

Stay within your year group areas so everyone can enjoy their break safely.

🏫 Assembly Hall

The Assembly Hall is a calm space – no running or playfighting. Please avoid any rough play behaviour logs. As the weather becomes warmer, students will be encouraged to access outdoor spaces once queues have dispersed.

🤫 Quiet Spaces

The library remains open for students to access games and reading. On Wednesdays, it is Whispering Wednesday – a quiet time for reading only.

Students should have a pass; please speak with library staff for further information.

🎟️ Fast Passes

Fast passes will be out this week. Remember to follow the Fast Pass queue system.

🚫 Out of Bounds Areas

• The stairway behind the Assembly Hall must remain clear at all times. It is not for students to gather. There should be no gathering on the stairs behind the hall under any circumstances.

• Inside the building is out of bounds, except when travelling to and from the library, Additional Learning, or the toilets. Students must not gather in these areas.

😇General Reminders

• Keep your hands to yourself – any rough play (pushing, bumping, playfighting, etc.) will result in a red 'rough play' log.

• Please don’t gather in the foyer or corridor areas. Stay either in the hall when permitted, the canopy the field areas or on the courts.
