Higher Project Qualification

The Higher Project Qualification provides the opportunity for students to discover the joy of independent learning and achieve a national qualification through their own research project.

This site proivdes advice to students who are interested in applying for, or who are already involved in, the HPQ course and advice for staff who are supervising students following the course.

What does the HPQ involve...

Students identify a research question or hypothesis to investigate. By using the support of taught sessions and one to one supervisor meetings students will realise their project through the form of a production log, written report and presentation. Students might also opt to create an artefact or put on an event. Successful projects will be awarded grades through A*-C by the AQA exam board.

This well respected qualification has a successful history and Warden Park and provides an opportunity for students to develop a wide range of character traits and skills.

The HPQ is offered to year 9 and 10 students through our twilight curriculum. Students following the Ingenium GCSE option will complete the HPQ as an integral component of the course.
