Mount Rainier WAMRA

The Washington Mountain Rescue Association (WAMRA) has a long-time partner relationship with Mount Rainier National Park (MORA). The MRA https://mra.org/ was founded by teams from the Pacific Northwest, and our teams have been involved in search and rescue activities in MORA since MRA establishment in 1959. https://mra.org/about-mra/mra-history/ This site provides detail on our current organization and operations at MORA.

Mount Rainier and the local Mountain Rescue Association (WAMRA) units can mutually benefit from coordinated activity in the Park. WAMRA appoints a committee (MORA-WAMRA Committee) to provide advice and assistance, including the drafting and review of Partnership documents. The Committee is the preferred means of communication between Park Staff and WAMRA teams.
