Grade 1 projects

Content of Our Character: We read a biography of Martin Luther King, Jr. and listened to his famous "I Have A Dream" speech. We found out that Dr. King wants us to think about what people are like INSIDE, not on the outside. Our grade 1 students brainstormed character traits that they want people to know they have, and explained how you could tell this is true. Watch their videos here:

Animal Adaptations: Grade 1 students examined a nonfiction text about an animal and identified one part of its body that was specially adapted to help it survive. Students created illustrations with narration to help you see what they learned.
