Kindergarten

Kindergarten Support is given both in the classroom and as pull out option when needed.



Skills worked on throughout the year are:

  • Phonemic Awareness -identifying beginning, middle, and ending sounds, rhyming, tapping out syllables, orally segmenting sounds in words, identifying words with similar beginning and ending sounds.

  • Letter Identification-each week we will be working on a certain letter.

  • Letter Formation

  • Reading simple CVC words -words with a consonant -vowel- consonant patterns (dog, cat, mop)

  • Writing CVC words

  • Learning the sounds of the digraphs- sh, th, ch, wh

  • Reading and Writing Words with Blends ( tr, cr, sl, sc,)

  • Retelling the beginning, middle, and end of a story

  • Kindergarten Sight Words
