Innovation Career Pathways are designed to give students coursework and hands-on, work-based learning experience in a specific high-demand industry, such as information, engineering, education, life sciences and advanced manufacturing.
Students who apply to this program will be exposed to various career options and fields that they may want to pursue post-graduation. Their elective and advanced placement coursework will grant them the foundational knowledge and technical skills related to their chosen field of study. As students take classes, they will be able to complete internships/co-ops, job shadows, and more.
All WHS students are enrolled in MyCAP (My Career and Academic Plan) seminars where they will develop their academic skills and college and career readiness skills.
The skills learned in this class help prepare students for their work-based learning experiences, such as being professional and organized at a work site. Students will also create artifacts they can use to apply for these opportunities like resumes, cover letters, professional email writing, and more.
Other seminar topics include: managing deadlines, applying to part time jobs, college essay writing, interview skills, key employability skills, and more!
