Math Curriculum Resources

We understand that sometimes there can be frustration at home surrounding homework and/or preparation for quizzes and tests. The subject that seems to come up most frequently with this frustration is math and parents often comment that they do not know how to support their child’s learning in regards to math when working with them at home. We wanted to offer a few online resources that may be helpful when helping your child with math at home.

Khan Academy - this resource offers lots of videos and practice exercises to help students (and parents) better understand concepts being taught in class. It can serve as a study tool for students to practice skills they have learned or as a resource when they get stuck trying to complete a homework assignment.

Big Ideas (can be accessed through the school Clever page - link on student landing page) - this is the textbook resource for all students, but it provides practice problems and video tutorials to support student learning as well.

LearnZillion - this resource also provides videos to enhance understanding of concepts students are learning in class. Unfortunately, access to practice work requires a license for the full version, but the free version offers many video lessons which usually have some practice built into them.

NCTM Illuminations - this resource offers lessons, interactive games and brain teasers to support student understanding and to provide enrichment as well.
