100th Day of School

We have been to school for 100 days! Can you believe that? Kindergarten started 100 days ago!

On Jan 27, we celebrated the 100th Day of School. We had games and cake. Ms. Eagan came to play a 100 snap words ping-pong game with us!

We finally had some warm snack-recess weather.

Celebrating the Lunar New Year

We learned about Chinese and Korean traditions, including lanterns, calendars, dragons, lucky numbers, foods, and family games. We paraded throught the office and science room with dragon heads. We also received Korean and Chinese envelopes with treats inside! Special thanks to Ranee, Tracy, Christina, Gabby, and Karen for teaching us.

Science Lesson

Recycling makes our planet healthier!

We are learning how to sort trash, recyclables, food waste, straws, snack wrappers, and plastic lunch bags. We apply this learning on the playground when we finish eating our snacks and, hopefully, at home too!

Update: Only one straw in the wrong bin today, 1/29.

Phonics and SNAP Words

We are learning how to make new words by substituing initial consonants. We are also practicing some of our 50 SNAP words! That's A LOT OF WORDS!

Math Workplaces

We learn to put all the numbers in correct order. It requires some tricky thinking to play this game! We also "Dreambox" with Ipads and play some more math games!

Reading Workshop

We are studying words, reading continuous text, reading poetry, and participating in shared reading with Mr. Hauge.

Off Menu @ Bedford Gallery

We visited Bedford Gallery at the Lesher Center for the Arts to enjoy the exhibit "Off Menu: Contemporary Art About Food". We walked there and back!

We have our Thanksgiving Feast.

Everyone brought something to share!

It is a fine autumn day!
