Accelerate Pre-College Programs
Our residential Boston and Oakland campus programs are taught by our internationally acclaimed faculty, allowing students to gain extensive, hands-on, experiential education in subjects including engineering, health sciences, ethics & emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, and more. Accelerate Pre-College Programs combine innovative content, experiential learning, and a world-class environment—giving talented high school students a true Northeastern experience.
Columbia University
Columbia Engineering's Summer High School Academic Program for Engineers (SHAPE) is a selective pre-college program for rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, and recent high school graduates. SHAPE is geared toward students with an aptitude for STEM: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Each 3-week session offers college-level, project-based courses in engineering taught by prestigious faculty at Columbia University. Students engage with peers and Columbia University faculty, staff, students, alumni, and industry partners through interactive programming, site visits, and workshops.
Rhode Island School of Design
Our summer Pre-College program is perfect for rising high school juniors and seniors ready to experience RISD firsthand. It will bring you to into our studios, introduce you to faculty and students from around the world, and push your creative practice to unexpected places. Throughout the six-week program, you’ll experience total immersion in art and design and create exciting work for your portfolio.
Columbia University
Admission to the Programs for High School Students is selective. Looking for academically exceptional students who are eager to contribute original ideas and a spirit of intellectual curiosity to a community of highly motivated learners.
There are no set minimum requirements such as a particular GPA, however, the application materials should establish that the student has the necessary academic background and level of ability, motivation, and maturity necessary to be an active participant in the courses and co-curricular activities.
Banson NYC
High School Fashion Summer Camps
We offer two NYC Fashion Summer Camps for high school students. They are designed for teens entering 9th through 12th grades. Each week-long session will teach the students the fundamentals of the fashion industry by providing an insider's perspective. The students will stay at a college Residence Hall or hotel with a residence advisor. Each morning the group will be picked up at the dorm/hotel by a Banson NYC representative. From there we will depart for our industry visits, seminars and activities of the day. Each evening will have group activities planned. Enrollment is limited to 20 campers per session. We accept applications on a first come, first served basis.

At Boston University Summer Journalism Academy (BUSJ), students not only have an opportunity to have award-winning working journalists, they also have the chance to experience Boston University and the city of Boston.
For 15 years, Boston University College of Communication has offered this program to teach high school students in-person and virtually core skills in news reporting, interviewing, and writing, focusing on hands-on experience in and around Boston and their home communities.
