Ledger.com/Start provides a simple entry point for setting up a Ledger device. Use official software, carefully follow the setup instructions, and treat your recovery information as private. This article is for informational purposes only and is not financial or investment advice. Always verify the latest setup and security instructions through Ledger's official website.

The only purpose of purchasing the expensive hardware wallet device is so you can protect your crypto assets from lurking threats online. However, it is not just the responsibility of a wallet to protect your funds. The wallet or the account holder has an equal share of responsibility. So, as an owner, below are the tips and tricks one must apply to ensure security:

• Scribble your secret recovery phrase on a sheet of paper and then store it in a safe place. Rather than storing it online, keep it in offline mode for more protection.

• During your login PIN setup, ensure the PIN sequence is not common. An unpredictable login PIN guarantees high safety.

• Install antivirus software on your device to keep threats away. Also, regular updates can eliminate the device from being vulnerable to threats. You can update your Ledger Live application via ledger.com/start.

• Be wary of unsolicited emails or messages that request sensitive information about your device. The Ledger will never request your PIN or recovery phrase.

• To avoid man-in-the-middle attacks, make sure you are on a secure network even when using Ledger Live.
