Spring Highlights

The Great Kindness Challenge

In January Saddle Ridge Participated in the annual Great Kindness Challenge. This is a week where students got to participate in different challenges to spread kindness in our school community and beyond. They did this by completing the kindness challenge checklist, adding a link to our kindness chain with their own kind acts or words, and creating their own square for our Kindness Quit. We love celebrating this week and can’t wait for next year!

If you would like to keep the challenge going at home, I’ve linked the Family Kindness Challenge Checklist here.

Erin’s Law Lessons

In January we also completed our Georgia state required, Erin’s Law lessons on preventing sexual abuse. These lessons are created to be age appropriate for each grade level to help students learn about safe and unsafe touch, safe and unsafe secrets, and how to stay safe and protect themselves and others. If you have any questions or would like to see our lessons, please reach out and we are happy to share them with you. Additionally, if you decided to opt your student out of these lessons, we are happy to provide a copy of the lesson for you to go over the material with them yourself. To learn more about Erin’s Law check out their website.

The NED Show

The NED Show, is a character education program that centers around three important messages that have lifelong relevance: Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best. During the assembly, students will learn about the importance of these three life skills while also enjoying storytelling, magic, humor and yo-yo tricks.

Small Groups

Small Groups have concluded for students PreK-8th grade! This a preventive action to provide more support for students in our school. These groups are not therapy, but more so a way for us to connect with more students and help provide them with skills to manage their feelings, connect better with peers, and do their best in and out of the classroom. If you are interested in your student joining a group next year reach out to us!
