The LaFayette High School Scholars program is a comprehensive and enriched experience designed for students who aim higher through a unique combination of academic, social, and extracurricular opportunities.
The Scholars program seeks to engage and prepare students for a 4-year college experience. Students will be a part of a dynamic scholarly community and will have a range of experiences designed to promote creative and critical thinking. Students that graduate as a Scholar will be challenged and will be prepared.
Students are eligible to be Valedictorian, Salutatorian, or ranked in the Top Ten as Seniors
Classes are taken with other highly motivated students
Development of college readiness skills
College visits as a regular component of the program
Special recognition at graduation
LaFayette High School Scholars diploma seal
Possibility of entering college as a sophomore
Completion of 60+ hours of community service
Resume worthy opportunities and achievements
To earn the Scholars Seal on their diploma, students will complete the following:
Earn an 80% or higher in their classes.
Challenge themselves with Honors level classes over Regular classes.
Complete at least 8 approved AP or DE rigor classes.
Visit multiple college/university campuses.
Participate in 60+ hours of Extended Learning (community service, internship, or research)
Earn a 25 on the ACT/1200 on the SAT.
Present a Capstone project to a Scholars review panel.
