Walker County Schools uses an online enrollment process. For families who are unable to complete the process online, we also offer in-person services at the Student Enrollment Center.

Students are assigned to schools based on their physical address (where they live) within the designated attendance zone. If you need additional assistance determining which school your child is zoned for, please contact our Transportation Department at (706) 375-2050.
If you wish for your child to attend a school outside his/her zone, you must submit an Out-of- Zone/ Out-of-District application to the school principal. Acceptance is based on space availability. Continued enrollment in a non-resident school is subject to the conditions set forth in the application. Please note that Out-of-Zone/ Out-of-District applications can only be submitted between May 1 and August 1. The form will open by 8:30 A.M. on May 1, 2026.
Before beginning the enrollment application, please gather the documents that will be required to complete your child’s enrollment. Having these items ready will help make the process quicker and easier. A list of required documents is provided below.
Parent/Guardian Identification
Valid Georgia ID
Child Identification
Birth Certificate
Social Security Card
Any court orders establishing or restricting custody
Health Records
Form 3231 (Immunization Record)
Form 3300 (Eye, Ear, Dental, and Nutrition Screening)
Proof of Residency:
Two proof-of-residency documents are required. Each must be current and dated within the last 30 days. Each must include the document date, the address, and the type of company/service/provider.
Examples include:
Electricity bill
Water bill
Gas bill
Phone bill
Cable/Internet bill
Signed lease agreement
Mortgage statement
Bank statement
Georgia voter registration card with current address
First page of Georgia income tax return
Receipt from vehicle tag registration
Please note: Proof-of-residency documents must be current and dated within the last 30 days.
Visual verification through a home visit by a School Social Worker may be required to confirm residency.
Living with a Friend or Relative
If you are living with a friend or relative due to economic hardship, both parties must visit the Central Enrollment Center to complete a Sworn Affidavit. Please bring:
Two proofs of residency
Current Georgia ID
Temporary or Homeless Living Situation
If you do not have documentation because you are living in a temporary or homeless situation, please contact the Homeless Outreach Program for Education at (706) 375-7947
Step 4: Enrollment Follow-Up
Once your application has been submitted, a member of the Enrollment Office will review your information and contact you if any additional documentation or details are needed. After review, the application will be forwarded to the school your child is assigned to attend. Within one school day, staff will reach out to parents/guardians regarding any next steps, including signing additional forms or providing further information.
