I wanted to take a moment and let everyone know just how proud I am of the robotics team. On Saturday they represented Chattanooga Valley at the state level. Our school team earned four of the 32 spots in the Georgia State Robotics Championship. Thirty-two of the best teams in Georgia. Once again Georgia proved itself as one of the most competitive states in the country. It was a back and forth struggle between all the teams competing. Our teams had a rough going during the morning session but turned it around later in the day. In the end ALL FOUR of our teams made it into the finals. Did I mention all four?

Invitations could still be given to our other three teams based on the success they all have had this season. We should know if they earn a spot after next weekend.
All four teams have scores that are still in the top ten in the state (we are ranked 4th, 5th, 6th, & 7th)!!!
We are the only school to have all of their teams in the top ten!!!
The robotics team finished its final league match last night against other Chattanooga area teams. The eagles only competition was CSLA, who had kept it close that last couple of matches.
In the skills portion of the event CSLA took 1st place but it was all CVMS after that.
Team C took 2nd place.
Team D, who had an outstanding comeback was 3rd,
Team A was 4th, and Team B was 5th.
In the teamwork portion, it all came down to CVMS and CSLA and it was a thrilling finish for the leagues top teams.
After a sudden-death playoff match, Team C were teamwork champions!
Team A finished 2nd,
Team B and D both finished 3rd.
Please congratulate the robotics team for their outstanding victories.
As of right now CVMS is the only school in the state of Georgia that has all four of their teams ranked in the top 10. They are ranked 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th.
The teams will travel to Covington, GA on January 15th to compete against the Atlanta area teams. The teams are also hoping for a bid to the Georgia State Championship on February 5th.

On Tuesday, the Robotics team competed with other teams in the Chattanooga area in its first competition of the season and all four teams dominated the competition. CVMS's teams placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th place. It's still very early in the season but team 51190B, led by Dominik Thomas has the second best score in the State of Georgia and 8th in World competition.
