Wakulla Maker Derby is our newest summer program, giving kids the chance to design, build, and race their own derby cars. Along the way, they'll learn the physics of racing while expressing their creativity through painting and custom designs. It's a fun, hands-on experience where engineering and imagination come together! 🏁🚗🎨
Each fall, we participate in the FIRST LEGO League Challenge, where young engineers gain hands-on experience with programming, robotics, engineering design, research, and public speaking. Through exciting real-world challenges, students develop teamwork, problem-solving skills, creativity, and innovative thinking while learning how to work together to design, build, and program a competitive robot. This program helps prepare the next generation of leaders, makers, and innovators in a fun and engaging environment.
Each Spring, we participate in the FIRST Robotics Challenge. Students work together to design, build, program, and test robots while preparing for challenges that encourage creativity and real-world engineering skills. Through our partnerships, volunteers, and community support, we help provide access to equipment, mentorship, and opportunities that might not otherwise be available locally.
Our goal is to create a clear pathway for students to grow from LEGO robotics into more advanced high school robotics programs and future STEM careers.
