At Wakatipu High School, we support as many students as possible to achieve the Duke of Edinburgh's Hillary Award (Bronze, Silver or Gold).
Generally, you can start Bronze in Year 10 and then move on to Silver and Gold each year after that.
This website will help you to understand what you need to do to achieve the Award and give you some ideas to get started.

Notes:
At Bronze level you are allowed to start in the school year you turn 14
One you have completed your Bronze level you may start your Silver level, even if you are not yet 15.
You have to be 16 to start Gold.
You can start your Silver or Gold Award without completing any previous levels (this is known as 'direct entry') - provided that you meet the age requirements (i.e. 15 for Silver, and 16 for Gold) plus additional time and training requirements, outlined in full here.
