"Hello everyone! My name is Hailey Fleming, and I am currently a sophomore in the Academy of Public and Professional Services. I have gained many life skills that are going to be essential and very useful for life after high school. I have learned about the different occupations that are available to me, and how I could potentially make a living based on the occupation of my choosing. CRASH events are a great way to meet new people, and explore what Waipahu High School has to offer. As for life after high school, I plan to attend a 4-year university or enroll into a radiology program. I have made so many fun memories with the CRASH Ohana, and I can’t wait to see what CRASH has in store for this school year. Big thank you CRASH!!"
"What’s up! I’m Cheydon Agos and I am a sophomore (‘24) in the Academy of Health and Sciences. Despite being limited to virtual circumstances of COVID-19, through CRASH, I was able to get a knowledge-packed experience to learn about what my future potentially has in store. Whether it was attending college or seeking a job in the workforce, CRASH provided me with sufficient opportunities that later allowed me to do my own research and grow as an individual. I hope to utilize the skills attained through CRASH when I explore the field of biotechnology with a hopeful concentration in medical nanotechnology at a research institution post high-school. I cannot wait for what this program has in store for me!"
"Hi!! My name is Kailee Maglangit, I am a junior in the Academy of Arts and Communication. From CRASH I learned so much information that I wouldn't have known if I didn't go to the events. Things from, what to expect to how to be prepared. All it takes is just a little bit of your time and you can gain so much knowledge from experienced people. Going to these events was not only fun, but it also gave me the confidence to stay strong and not be so nervous or lost about my future. After high school I want to go to college. I like to travel, but I think it would be better to stay with my family and go to a school on the island. Some place like UH Manoa, my mom suggested that, and I want to continue playing volleyball. CRASH was honestly such a good experience for me and I encourage others to try it out, you just might like it like I did!!!"
"Aloha! My name is Logan Chun and I am a senior in the Fearless Huskies class of 2022! I am in the academy of Arts and Communication in the Graphic Design pathway. Being the in the CRASH program allowed me to gain the knowledge that is definitely needed to take the next steps after high school. It also helps you ease stress knowing you have a path you’re able to follow. I plan to attend college and hope to pursue career in the sports field whether it be management or apart of a design team. Mahalo Nui Loa CRASH Program!"
"My name is Karla Jane Asuncion and I am c/o 2022 Fearless Huskies! I am currently a Senior at Waipahu High School's accredited Academy of Health and Sciences. It was a great opportunity to be a part of the CRASH events because not only was it educational, but I got to have one and one conversations with adults to carry on life advices for the near future. Being able to receive advice all throughout high school has been seen to slowly unfold now as I am taking next steps in my post-high school life. After high school, I plan to attend Pensacola Christian College in the Fall of 2022, and receive a Bachelor in Science Nursing. I plan to carry on all the memories, lessons, and opportunities this program has given me. Mahalos CRASH!"
"Hi! My name is Arianne Karylle Cadiz. I am a senior in the Academy of Arts and Communication. Attending CRASH has given me the confidence in applying and going to college. Coming from an immigrant family, education is a must, and now, I have full trust in myself that I can succeed and make it in the world! My favorite event was when I was able to meet people in various industries. It gave me the chance to explore different career options and talk to people about what steps I can take to be just like them! After graduating from high school, I plan on attending a four-year university, right here on Oʻahu, and major in Psychology."
"I'm so glad that I attended CRASH events because I learned a lot about life after high school and the process of getting into college. CRASH gave me the opportunity to speak with college students and many people from different career paths. Hearing from them gave me a better understanding of how I wanted to plan out my life after high school and encouraged me to reach my goals. Thanks CRASH for guiding me throughout high school!"
"Being a first-generation college student and a recent immigrant from the Philippines at the time, I had to learn a bunch of college-related matter – I was completely clueless. I had to navigate through FAFSA, college applications, scholarship applications, and life after high school. Thankfully, the CRASH events were there to help me out along the way. It made the journey a little bit easier and bearable. I will forever be grateful especially for the financial help I received."
"I’m glad that I attended CRASH events throughout my high school career because it helped me widen my choices in life. CRASH gave me the opportunity to broaden my horizons and gave me the chance to speak to different colleges/employers regarding possible opportunities that may be fit for me after I graduate from high school. As a result, I was able to learn about what to expect as a college student, applying for scholarships, and paving the road to success. Take advantage of CRASH events because it will all be worth it in the end. As you approach the final years of your high school career, remember to keep pushing through and finish strong!"
