Bamboo straws information

Our premium bamboo straws are locally harvested from the Makarau Forest.

Our bamboo straws are cruelty free environmentally friendly and sustainable.

The process

.1.Firstly we find a fresh green bamboo plant.

.2.Then we cut them to the correct size.

.3.Next we test them for quality and strength and take them to the house for the next step.

.4.Finally we wash them with safe and cruelty-free soap.

.5.And then and only then we can rinse them out with water and let them dry in the sun.

.6.After that we get them into groups of 2 or 5 and wrap them in a blue ribbon so they are ready to sell.

Bamboo cups information

Our premium bamboo cups are locally sourced from the Makaru forest.

Our bamboo cups are also cruelty-free environmentally friendly and look spectacle.

The process

Firstly we use a hand saw to cut the bamboo and make sure there are no bugs or rot in the wood.

Then we cut it to the perfect size and checked it for unwanted blockages.

And then we wash it out after that let it dry out in the sun.

Now we put a light coat of olive oil for a garnish then we let it dry in the sun for about 2.5 days.

And now it is ready to sell.

All our products are handmade with bamboo sourced from the local Kaukapakapa bush. They are reusable for up to two years if hand-washed.
