Meet the Counselors

Aloha Waikiki Ohana. My name is Lynn Loveman, and I'm one of your Waikiki School Counselors, and have been with Waikiki since 2017.  I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and I have also lived overseas for 17 years and worked as an international school educator and school counselor.   I'm lucky to be married to a fellow passionate educator and together we have 2 grown children, Max (25) and Matai (18).   I love working with students, families and staff to help find solutions and work together toward positive change and being our best selves!  Some of my favorite things to do are travel, swim, and study the Human Brain!

Our New Counselor!!

Introducing Mr. Garibay (Mr. G)

Aloha, my name is Eduardo Garibay and I am excited to join Waikiki Elementary School's counseling team. This is my first year at Waikiki Elementary School and second year living on the beautiful island of O'ahu. I attended UC Davis for my bachelor's degree and then earned my master's degree in counseling from California Lutheran University. I love working with students and their families and have worked in schools for over ten years. The various roles I have had in schools have been being a tutor, behaviorist, and now as a school counselor.

As a school counselor, I want all my students to feel heard and empowered and know that they are supported through their emotional and academic journeys. I try to get to know all of my students and learn about what makes them who they are and know they are accepted and encouraged to continue expressing their individuality. I look forward to an amazing year and growing with our mindful school.
